Is this [the animal advocacy movement] a middle class movement and what sort of opportunities might exist for alliance politics with the labour movement etc...I think we need to think outside the square a little bit and a bit more creatively and not make assumptions or just take the statistics at face value. We need to think about what the lived reality of workers' lives is like and how we might connect with them  ~  Helen Masterman-Smith.
